The present paper identifies four passages which were claimed to be quotations from the padm(a)l(a)nkar sudur in the Old Uyghur text known by the title KÖNGÜL tözin ukıtdačı nom “The doctrine that explains mind-nature” and are all from the Buddhāvataṃsaka-sūtra in eighty volumes. It also argues that the quotations that are given with the indication köngül tözin tuymıš bahšılar inčä tep sözläyürlär “The masters who perceived the essence of the mind say like this” in the same text come from divergent Chinese Chan texts. In all instances, the quotations are compared with their parallels in possible Chinese source texts, paying special attention to illustrating their relation to the source texts.
