Eine Spurensuche in der Sprachlehre von der Hohen Pforte}, journal = {Zeitschrift der Deutschen Morgenländischen Gesellschaft}, volume = {167}, number = {2}, year = {2017}, abstract = {In 1989, Werner Lehfeldt edited a 15th century manuscript from İstanbul Ayasofya Kütüphanesi, called by him Sprachlehre von der Hohen Pforte (“A Sublime Porte textbook”). In fact, it is rather a conversation guide, which contains an original Arabic text, translated into Persian, Greek, and Serbian, all rendered in Arabic script. However, the fact that in one dialogue the students mention the Khoresmian language, focus our attention to Maḥmūd Zamaḫšarī's “Muqaddimatu'l-adab”, a trace, which is pursued in the essay. In its second part, our attention is drawn to the Serbian language version, for which the informant due to linguistic characteristics rather seems to be a native from Macedonia. This would also explain the substitution of the Arabic “Iblīs” by a Bogomilian “Satanail”.}, url = {https://doi.org/10.13173/zeitdeutmorggese.167.2.0363} doi = {10.13173/zeitdeutmorggese.167.2.0363} }
